Alysia has been working in the beauty industry since she was 18, beginning as an assistant to her own & beloved esthetician. Shortly after attending the renowned Blanche Macdonald Centre in 2006 – she was stuck working 9-5 and her passion for make-up was left behind as a weekend luxury.
Combining esthetics & make-up into one package, Beauty Calls was born in 2008 and has continues to grow…
Alysia has worked on photo shoots for corporate, media, magazines, marketing campaigns, Vancouver Opera, jewelry & clothing, as well as models,actors & fashion shows, and of course weddings. “The positive energy and happiness that surrounds a wedding day is incomparable to any other job, Bridal work just clicks with me, I love it!.”
“It was all about following my heart and making my dream job a reality. As cliche as it sounds, its very true. I had been putting make-up & nail polish on dolls and anyone who would let me near them since I was 5 years old, in high school I would even spend my lunch hours giving manicures for friends and classmates – I was always the one getting everyone ready for events and celebrations. I believed in my passion and still do – I wouldn’t take it back for a second, I’m very blessed to be doing what I love.
